Mid-Junior Designer
Full-time Position | Salary Range: 90,000 - 120,000 KES
Learnly Africa's client in Nairobi is seeking a Junior Designer to join their innovative product development team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather user requirements, conduct market research, and create high-quality prototypes. You will also collaborate on the design of user journeys, focusing on building intuitive and impactful user experiences.

Responsibilities:

User Requirement Gathering: Work with stakeholders to understand and translate user needs into actionable insights.

Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends and conduct thorough research to inform design decisions.

User Journey Mapping: Develop detailed user journeys to address customer pain points.

Prototype Development: Use design software to create wireframes and high-quality product prototypes.

User Testing & Validation: Test prototypes with users and incorporate feedback for improvements.

Template Creation: Design and maintain product templates to streamline workflows.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the design process, decisions, and outcomes.

Collaboration: Work closely with product teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliveries that meet organizational goals.
Skills:

Strong understanding of design principles, including color theory, typography, and layout.

Proficiency in design software like Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, Sketch, and Canva.

Knowledge of Design Thinking processes, including validation, discovery, and prototyping.

Effective time management and multitasking skills to handle various projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Attention to detail with a proactive and professional work ethic.

Experience in project coordination and stakeholder management.

Basic design documentation skills to maintain records of the design process and outcomes.

Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycles is an added advantage.

A creative mindset with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or Marketing.

1-2 years of experience as a designer, with a strong portfolio of relevant work.

Exposure to user research methods and ability to assist with user requirements gathering.

Certifications in relevant areas such as User Experience (UX) Design, Product Management, or Design Thinking can enhance a candidate's qualifications.
