Job Purpose
The Teaching Assistant (TA) supports the delivery of hands-on data analytics training by unblocking technical issues faced by students and actively supporting group-based learning in real time. The TA is also expected to ensure the class environment is always ready, escalate systemic risks early enough, and facilitate class in the temporary absence of a lead trainer.
Key Responsibilities

Learner technical support

Provide real-time hands-on support to learners during practical sessions in Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python.

Troubleshoot issues faced by the learners.

Identify and escalate issues or challenges faced by the learners.
Classroom Support
-
Support the lead trainer by resolving questions with minimal interruption to class flow, grouping learners with similar issues for efficient resolution, and undertaking recaps or class warm-up activities

Monitor key classroom metrics – this could be project progress, level of engagement, learning pace, and assignment completion

Monitor and encourage class participation in real-time.

Readiness of the training environment

Ensure the required infrastructure is set up before class. This includes but is not limited to internet connectivity, required devices, datasets, and software.

Maintain inventory tracking of devices and accessories.

Communication and issue management

Communicate issues early and clearly

Apply judgment on issues independently and escalate to the lead trainer

Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Data Analytics, ICT, Education Technology, Statistics, or related field.

1–2 years of experience delivering or supporting technical training in digital skills or data analytics.

Technical competence in Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python (required).
